Summertime in Canada is short but oh so sweet, which is why you’ll find locals getting outside as much as possible during the warm months of July, August, and September. If you find yourself in Medicine Hat at this time of year, then you’re in luck – this city happens to have more annual days of sunshine than any other city in Canada. There’s lots for nature enthusiasts to see and explore in the sunniest city in Canada! Below we’ve picked out a few of our favourite spots to enjoy the great outdoors in Medicine Hat.

Echo Dale Regional Park
Echo Dale is Medicine Hat’s largest park and features many kilometers of hiking, two lakes, and a historical farm. Spend the day of paddleboarding, swimming, and volleyball and settle around a campfire at one of the park’s fire pits when the sun sets. Echo Dale also features a Historical Farm with a barn and a blacksmith shop - a piece of history that will take you back in time!

Kin Coulee Park
At over 100 acres large, there’s a little something for everyone to be found in Kin Coulee Park. Housing a skateboard park, playgrounds and a baseball diamond, there's a full-day of family fun to be had here. Bring along some lunch as Kin Coulee also features the most popular picnic spot in Medicine Hat!

South Saskatchewan River
The South Saskatchewan River is an outdoor lover’s dream. Take a walk or a bike ride along the river bed, and you’re likely to witness the wide variety of wildlife that call the riverbed home, including eagles, beavers and mule deer. You can also take a cruise down the river on a kayak or paddleboard. The river’s stunning vistas make for a blissful summer day. For visitors to Medicine Hat, the South Saskatchewan River is not to be missed!
