Music, farmer’s market, and drums: October events in Medicine Hat

  • August 31, 2017

No matter what your interests are, we’re sure there’ll be something in Medicine Hat to keep you thoroughly entertained during your stay in the city. Like classic music? We’ve got you covered. Love to sample the produce offerings of the place you’re travelling to? We have that too. Like hard hitting percussion mixed with flute melodies? Yeah, we have that too! You’ll find all the need know information below.

Old fashioned folky rock

The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band have been helping audiences rock since way back in 1966, and the band just keeps on truckin’ along. They’ll be bringing their gritty, down to earth sound to the Esplanade for two special shows: one on Monday October 16, and another the following night. If you’re ready to get down for a night of folky fun, then this is the place to be!

You can’t travel all the way to Medicine Hat and leave without taking home a souvenir! The best place to pick up a piece of the city is at the Farmer’s Market, which will be taking place on October 7 from 9am - 1pm. Pick up produce or preserves and enjoy a taste of Medicine Hat, or you can take home a locally produced crafts item. The choice is yours! Takes place at Cypress Centre Fieldhouse.

A modern twist on ancient Japan drumming

Fubuki Daiko’s work is steeped in ancient Japanese tradition, which has then be mixed with modern tastes. We could explain it in more detail, but it’s best to see it for yourself: The show will be taking place on October 22 at the Esplanade.

Put the cherry on top of your trip by staying at the best hotel in Medicine Hat during your stay. At the Days Inn Medicine Hat, you’ll have everything you need to fully enjoy your time in the city, including a daybreak cafe breakfast, an indoor pool (with water slide!), and free Wi-Fi.
