No matter what your level of interest in automobiles, there’s something very striking about seeing a pristine vintage car driving down the street. These cars immediately evoke nostalgic memories of a different time. Combine that with the guitar licks of classic rock songs and you’re ready to take a step back in time! 
 
The fourth-annual Medicine Hat Cars and Guitars festival combines a showcase of beautifully restored vintage cars with the classic rock tunes many generations have come to know and love. Taking place on August 16^thand 17^th the event will feature a cruiser exhibition and live bands playing from the songbooks of some of the most beloved classic rockers. 
 
The event begins on Friday evening, with the car showcase staring at 5pm. Arrive early to get a good viewing spot, and watch hundreds of classic cars, cruisers, trucks and motorcycles will be cruising around downtown Medicine Hat. Make sure to bring your camera! On Saturday, you can catch another cruising show and also grab lunch at one of the many food trucks serving up a delicious variety of dishes, and a beer garden. 
 
The Guitars portion of the Cars and Guitars festival comes into play during the evening concerts. One Friday night, you can catch The Hip Show, a Tragically Hip tribute band playing songs from one of the most beloved Canadian music groups. On Saturday night, Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute band Bad Moon Riders will take the stage along with Eagle Eyes, who will be covering all your favourite song from 1970s rock legends The Eagles. 

New for 2019, the Cars and Guitars festival will also be featuring a Vocal Talent Show on Saturday afternoon, which will have aspiring vocalists compete to win a Studio Recording Session. Who knows? You might be witnessing the next big star in the making!
