Medicine Hat November events:stories, art, and music

  • September 29, 2017

There’s no chance that things are going to slow down as we head into the chilly month of November. If anything, we’re going to have even more events taking place! If you’re visiting the city during this month, you’ll be able to get a glimpse into the magic of Medicine Hat through a special performance, take in some local works of art, and see one of Canada’s most beloved rock bands up close and personal.

Tale of a town

What is Medicine Hat, and who are the people who give it it’s special thrum? You’ll be able to get a glimpse at the answers at the ‘Tale of a Town’ event, which will be taking place at the Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre on Friday, November 3. This special performance will incorporate stories gathered last year, which will be told through live music performance, theatre, and video.

Resurrection

You don’t have long left to catch Kevin McKenzie’s Resurrection installation, which will be showing at the Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre from now until November 4. The installation features handmade cast buffalo skulls, which have then been artfully illuminated by LED lights. The show aims to have visitors ponder the nature of identity, technology, cultural commodification, and other heavyweight topics.

Barenaked Ladies

Well now, this will be fun! Head down to Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre on November 21 and you’ll be able to see a live performance by the Barenaked Ladies, one of the most popular bands of the past three decades. You’ll be able to see them work their way through a set of all the fan favourite tracks; one not to be missed!
